A major home builder is partnering with a Texas startup to create a community of 100 3D printed homes near Austin in preparation for what is by far the largest development of this type of living in the United States
Lennar Corp. and construction technology company Icon will begin construction at a location in the greater Austin area next year, the companies said. While Icon and others have already built 3D-printed enclosures, that effort will test the technology’s ability to produce homes and generate buyer demand on a much larger scale.
