The 38th grade of Leadership San Angelo was introduced to the city during the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce’s monthly lunch. Thirty graduates completed the nine-month training. United States representative Austin Pfluger delivered the opening address, discussing how he learned leadership in the military and taught graduates effective leadership techniques. Pfluger served the country as a United States Air Force fighter pilot.

Leadership San Angelo is a program designed to develop future leaders for San Angelo by providing in-depth training in areas that are important to the well-being of the city.

Leadership San Angelo gives interested women and men with leadership potential the opportunity to expand their knowledge and sharpen their leadership skills through a planned learning process in the atmosphere of the city. As a “living laboratory”, Leadership San Angelo brings people from all areas of city life together to share, learn and participate. Graduates will be exposed to all aspects of San Angelo life and will be better prepared to lead and work together.

A maximum of 30 people are selected per class, who are selected from applicants by an anonymous selection committee. Nominees and their employers commit to the time required for the program. Participants from all areas of the community are encouraged. A candidate must be at least 21 years old.
