AUSTIN, Texas, October 12, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – Lone Star Overnight (LSO) welcomes Sean O’Connor to his new role as Chief Operating Officer of the premier regional courier company. O’Connor joins LSO after a long and successful career in the express delivery industry.

“Sean has a wealth of experience and it shows,” said Richard Metzler, CEO of LSO, who like O’Connor has had a successful career in shipping and logistics. “Like everyone who has been in the parcel business for a long time, Sean has it in his blood. Our entire team at LSO will benefit from his energy and expertise.”

O’Connor served as Chief Operating Officer and was promoted to President of General Logistics Services (GSO) in San Ramon, California. Prior to joining GSO, O’Connor worked for FedEx for 26 years and held a number of senior positions including regional vice president of the Eastern region and later vice president of contractors relations for the company. O’Connor holds a bachelor’s degree in business and management from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania.

“I am very honored and excited to take on this role for LSO,” said O’Connor. “I look forward to working with the entire team to realize our vision and accelerate our growth within the current network and beyond.”

O’Connor joins LSO as the domestic overnight carrier market is expected to grow significantly over the next few years and the courier company expands its service operations in Arkansas, Illinois, Louisiana and Missouri.

With global demand for courier services expected to grow, LSO customers have indicated that they prefer the flexibility, savings and better service that regional carriers can provide. LSO demonstrated its excellence over the past year by surpassing a 98% on-time reliability rate while other larger carriers struggled to meet and juggle employee and customer safety requirements during the pandemic.
