Here are a few bites from Austin restaurants news.
P. Terry’s reopens downtown
Guess who’s back, back again? P. Terry is back! Downtown, that is. Tell a friend.
After Austin’s popular burger joint closed a year ago due to the impact of the pandemic on revenue, it reopened its location at 515 Congress Ave. The news means that all of Fr. Terry’s locations are officially open for food, takeaway and delivery.
“As downtown is brought back to life, we are reopening our only closed location due to the pandemic,” said Todd Coerver, P. Terry’s CEO, in a statement. “We have renovated the burger stand, brought in a new team and are pleased to be able to serve the residents, trade visitors and visitors in the city center again.”
The Maiko Sushi Lounge closes its doors
Maiko Sushi Lounge, the sushi spot in the city center that opened in 2005, will celebrate its last day on Wednesday.
The restaurant will be closed due to a planned demolition on the site at 311 W. 6th St., which will create space for a 60-story residential and office complex for the banking company BBVA USA.
Grimaldi’s Pizzeria opens on Domain Northside
Lovers of New York style pizza can look forward to it. Grimaldi’s Pizzeria, a chain originally from Brooklyn, New York, is opening its first full-service Austin location on October 26th at the Domain Northside shopping mall in Northwest Austin.
The dine-in restaurant joins Grimaldi’s Pizzeria To-Go, a delivery and take-away concept that opened earlier this year at Kitchen United Mix, 8023 Burnet Road.
The Domain Northside location will offer the brand’s signature stone oven pizzas and calzones along with salads, starters, desserts and a full bar. More information is available at grimaldispizzeria.com.
