AUSTIN STACKS WOMEN

Elissa elected chairwoman

Congratulations to Melissa White for being elected Chair of the Austin Stacks Ladies Club at the club’s annual general meeting (Wednesday, November 24). Melissa is of course the daughter of 10-time All-Ireland winner Dell (Mc Loughlin) and Josh White and has played all of her youth and senior football with the club. When she returned to Tralee with her family in 2018, Melissa got involved again in the club when her 3 young children started playing and she herself trained again with our senior ladies. In 2021 she started to train our U6 girls. Melissa replaces Noreen Power, who served as chair for many years until she became the club’s first honorary president in 2021.

Austin Stacks is Kerry’s largest LGFA club, offering age groups from U6 to U16. The club also has a smaller team and our senior ladies play in the Intermediate Championship. The club is currently looking for a new senior team manager so this will be the immediate top priority for the new chairman. Melissa is assisted in her role by the following re-elected club officers: Joan Devane, club secretary; Bernie Mannix, treasurer; Elma Nix, PRO; Caitriona Chester, Chancellor; Jemma O’Connell – Board Delegate (shares role with Linda Raymond / Megan O’Brien / Caoimhe Barry Walsh); Carmel O’Neill – Austin Stacks GAA and LGFA Children’s Officer; Caoimhe Barry Walsh – replaces Gene O’Donnell as the Ladies Club representative on the club’s merged coaching committee.

Best wishes

Everyone at Austin Stacks LGFA sends our best wishes to Wayne and the team for Sunday’s Senior Co. Championship Final.
