UT Austin hooks No. 2 ranking on new list of top Texas schools

Back-to-school time is a great time for new college rankings, and – oh look, here they are.

Neighborhood rating website Niche.com just released this year’s college rankings, using data from the U.S. Department of Education coupled with ratings from current students, alumni, and parents to rank American colleges on 12 factors, including academics, campus , Dormitory life and professors.

With results that are strikingly similar to last year’s list, the University of Texas at Austin achieved a grade among the top 10 Texas Schools this year, just behind the private research university in Houston.

Once again, Rice University in Houston was named the best school in Texas (and seventh best in the United States). The complete top 10 in Texas looks like this:

  4. Southern Methodist University

  5. Trinity University

  6. Texas Christian University

  7. Baylor University

With an overall grade of A +, UT Austin has achieved good marks nationwide in some very specific categories, such as: B. Best Colleges for Communications in America (No. 7 of 917), Top Public Universities in America (No. 9 of 691), and Best Colleges for Music in America (No. 32 of 274). Another interesting list for aspiring freshmen is Niche’s ranking of the 2022 colleges with the best student living in Texas. Top colleges have positive, fun, and friendly student cultures and a vibrant campus community, per niche. No surprise here: Although UT Austin ranked 14th out of 1,612 College Schools With the Best Student Life in America, it was ranked No. 1 as the college with the best student life in Texas.

Here’s how Texas schools stand out for the best student living:

This last designation could also have something to do with the fact that UT Austin is ranked 18th out of 1,612 Top Party Schools in America and the Top Party School in Texas.
