American to Add 14 New Routes from Austin in the Fall

American Airlines will expand its Austin, Texas service this fall with 10 new domestic routes and four new international routes, the airline said.

On September 8, American will operate twice daily from Austin to Cincinnati and daily to El Paso, Indianapolis, Kansas City, St. Louis, Jacksonville and Reno. Service to Indianapolis, Kansas City and St. Louis will be increased to twice a day and El Paso to three times a day in the following weeks. American is adding daily service between Austin and Oklahoma City and San Juan, Puerto Rico on October 7, and daily to Tulsa on November 2.

In its international network, American will add a service from Austin to Cancun, Mexico four times a week on October 7th. On November 2nd, it will fly four times a week from Austin to Liberia, Costa Rica, and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and three times a week from Austin to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

In addition, American will offer year-round seasonal service between Austin and Los Cabos, Mexico and Nassau, Bahamas this fall.

American Airlines’ chief commercial officer, Alison Taylor, said in a statement that Austin “is an increasingly important market for both our leisure and business customers.” The airline announced several new routes from Austin for the summer in March, including several to meet demand for out-of-town business travel.
