Tuesday: We gave you a superpower to give away in our Holiday Your Way quiz. Get your favorites the perfect technical object or device, regardless of their personality!

Thursday: We showed the many ways Verizon uses drones and the rules we must all follow when using them.

The return of the Small Business Days

Verizon Business is bringing back Small Business Days to give small and medium-sized businesses early access to Black Friday deals through November 24th. Businesses can enjoy savings of up to $ 1,200 in addition to fee waivers and personalized technical assessments.

FM logistics

Verizon Business was selected by FM Logistic to transform its global network infrastructure in 14 countries. The company is an international provider of supply chain services in the areas of consumer goods, retail, cosmetics, industry and health. The partnership with Verizon will enable FM Logistic to prepare its infrastructure for the next generation of operational innovation.

The greenest arena

In Seattle we create the ultimate arena experience. The new state-of-the-art Climate Pledge Arena, home to the NHL’s Seattle Kraken, WNBA’s Seattle Storm, and the best in live music and entertainment. The new arena will use Verizon’s 5G technology as well as the Distributed Antenna System (DAS) and Converged Network Services (CNS), which provide voice, data and WiFi services. Other innovative aspects are a living wall, a video wall, a rainforest wall and cash-free scanners that make it the greenest arena. It’s even designed to freeze rainwater into the ice that is used for the hockey games!

Free Smart Family for V-Teamers

If you have kids, check out Verizon Smart Family Premium. It usually costs $ 9.99 and is now free for employees! Smart Family Premium gives parents the ability to manage their children’s devices. Use location tracking, pickup and check-in features, and things like content filtering, limiting and monitoring calls, texts, and purchases. You can monitor your internet and app activity, and even monitor screen time on some devices, all in one app. And our new Driving Insight function can let you know when your child is on the move, whether they’re using their phone or driving too fast. Download the app or log into MyVerizon.

The latest 5G portal

Yesterday we celebrated Latin music’s biggest night as we teamed up with Univision and the 22nd Annual Latin Grammy Awards for an enhanced 5G experience. The Verizon 5G portal brought fans the hottest artists and the red carpet live from Las Vegas into their own four walls. Users entering the portal were transported onto the red carpet, backstage, and into the press room. A unique experience thanks to the extremely low delay and the enormous capacity of 5G Ultra Wideband.

Kindness comes to Austin

Last Sunday we helped Austin, Texas thanks to our newest mural from Kindness encouraging visitors to share the love of looking a little kinder and brighter. Many Austinites picked up paintbrushes and worked with local artist Tara Johnston to make their community shine.

Support from the Pat Tillman Foundation

On Tuesday, we surprised the Pat Tillman Foundation with a $ 50,000 grant to support their mission, providing active military service members, veterans and their spouses with academic scholarships, lifelong leadership development opportunities, and a diverse, global community of high-performing mentors and partners To strengthen colleagues.

Never stop learning

This is how you can be nice to yourself and your brain – learn something new! For inspiration, check out the insightful article by V Teamer Christine D’Angelo on our Inside Verizon page on LinkedIn. Christine gives us an in-depth look at the benefits she experienced when she committed to doing something new every day for 30 days.

V-Teamers go beyond that

Senior customer service rep Arlene Fraser was on a call to help a customer when she noticed he appeared to be having health issues. Arlene acted quickly and alerted the emergency services. She stayed on the phone and comforted him until help arrived. The customer was so grateful and told us that without your help he is not sure what would have happened. The managers at Arlene tell us that Arlene does everything for the customers and the company, as she does every day. Thanks Arlene!

We would also like to highlight Nate Taylor and his team for visiting the Washington Episcopal School in Bethesda, Maryland. Nate and his team of technicians and local managers spoke to the children about how Verizon enables communication with the US and the world. They set up stations for Fios equipment, a demonstration of the splicing of fiber optic cables and a third station for a simulated manhole construction. One final stop featured one of the splicers driving upstairs in a bucket truck, which is always a crowd-pleaser. Afterward, the teacher said to Ms. Owens, “I had two girls who jumped up and down after class and said they wanted to be technicians at Verizon. Another said, “Wow, that was cool! Verizon is great! ‘”

Thanks to Nate, Imani Fletcher, Jamar Johnson, Keith Mason, Karim Maynard, Hasan Garment, Jeff Swerczek and James Watkins for inspiring the next generation of V-Teamers!

We’re also celebrating a great achievement by V Teamer’s son and Instructional Design Consultant James Emmons. Sean Emmons recently gave his high-level speech on how to overcome stuttering through hard work and the help of his family and therapists. We agree with James that Sean is a true champion and that we must celebrate and respect our differences.
