She said these types of events usually impact COVID-19 cases two to three weeks later.
During the briefing, Walkes said the latest data shows that the 7-day moving average for hospital stays has dropped to 55 and has been slowly declining recently.
Austin moved to Phase 5 on August 5.

High-risk vaccinated individuals are asked to avoid large gatherings that do not require masks. Austin Public Health also encourages vaccinated people to speak to their unvaccinated loved ones about vaccination.
Unvaccinated individuals are advised to avoid all gatherings and travel and to choose roadside options and delivery whenever possible. You will be asked to wear a mask if “you need to go out” to perform essential activities.
