Austin gets green thumbs up on list of environmentally friendly cities

With Austin’s growing population, we’re getting the green light on the city’s environmental impact, especially when compared to other Texas metro.
The capital ranks 26th out of the 100 largest US cities in a new WalletHub ranking of the greenest places in the country, making Austin the greenest city in the Lone Star State.
To determine which cities are promoting green lifestyles, WalletHub compared the 100 largest cities using 28 key green indicators. These factors include greenhouse gas emissions per capita, the number of smart energy policies and initiatives, and green job opportunities.
