As with most places in America in 2021, obscene wealth corrupted what once made Austin great. In this era of extreme gentrification and growing uninhabitable for all but a select few, a welcome holdover is an abundance of places to get some tacos at relatively cheap prices. Torchy’s tacos is nowhere near the best, but it could be the most ambitious.
The chain, which started with a food truck in 2006 amid rapid expansion, is next in line. Torchy’s is coming to central Florida in 2022 with two locations: one location in Altamonte Springs this summer and one location in Orlando this fall.
The Altamonte Springs outpost has a permanent location. Torchy’s sources say they plan to open at 434 999 N. State Road. The place in Orlando will be somewhere in the Vineland Pointe mall.
