If you’re looking to get away from the cold weather for your next winter vacation, then Austin, Texas should be considered.
That emerges from the current study by WalletHub, which has found the best metropolitan areas for winter holidays, both for fans of warm weather and for fans of cold weather.
Austin topped WalletHub’s list of warm weather destinations, while Atlanta topped the list of cold weather destinations.

For its report, WalletHub compared 69 of the most densely populated statistical metropolitan areas (MSAs) in the US to a 50-year average temperature in December that is either colder than 46 degrees Fahrenheit or warmer than 57 degrees Fahrenheit, plus the top 10 MSAs in the country .
WalletHub then compared these 69 MSAs based on 39 measurements across six categories: Travel Expenses & Anger, Local Expenses, Attractions, Weather, Activities, and Safety.
