[ad_1]
SAN FRANCISCO – (BUSINESS WIRE) – Cloudflare, Inc. (NYSE: NET), the security, performance, and reliability company that is helping build a better Internet, today announced its entry into email security with new offerings to email -Solve challenges in an easy-to-use way that gives customers more control. Email is one of the biggest threats to consumers and businesses today. The FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center 2020 Internet Crime Report shows that phishing attacks were the most common type of cyber attack in 2020. The reason, according to Forrester, “The biggest problems with email is its ubiquity and our willingness to trust it. Everyone has an e-mail account, often more than one, which makes this medium a constant target for attackers. ”Previous solutions intervene in the problem without tackling it comprehensively.
“Customers have asked us for years to look into email security. Today we announce new tools that will help address the greatest remaining network security risk that Cloudflare has not yet addressed, ”said Matthew Prince, Co-Founder and CEO of Cloudflare. “We want to be the network that businesses of all sizes can join for all their needs. Although today is our first step in this area, ultimately we hope to become a leader in email security. ”
Creating, managing, and securing email services can be complex tasks that require technical expertise. Today Cloudflare announces two features that customers can use to help with this:
Cloudflare email routing
First, Cloudflare offers its customers powerful new email routing tools to streamline email management. Cloudflare email routing gives customers more control over their email and allows them to be professionally addressed while relying on any email hosting provider, whether it’s hosted Exchange, managed Office 365, Gmail, Google Workplace or an old Aol.com address. This is especially powerful for small businesses who might want to have a custom domain for their email addresses but still manage everything behind the scenes from a consumer Gmail account.
DNS Email Security Assistant
Second, Cloudflare offers tools to help anyone with an email address better protect their brand from phishing and spam. In the past these were difficult to configure and easy to make mistakes. With the DNS wizard for e-mail security from Cloudflare, it is now possible for every Cloudflare customer to configure network entries such as the Sender Policy Framework (SPF) or DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) in order to protect themselves from attackers with one click protect domains that abuse domains to send malicious emails.
Cloudflare customers can use these free features to:
-
Create custom email addresses with just a few clicks: Customers can quickly and easily configure custom email addresses for their domain – all for free.
-
Consolidate multiple email accounts into one unified inbox: Now customers can have a custom domain email address that is automatically forwarded to their preferred mailbox (e.g. Gmail or Outlook) without anyone knowing . now [name]@[your company].com keeps your email professional and branded but available from whatever email provider you use.
-
Let them know about gaps in email security: Cloudflare automatically displays alerts and recommended actions to users if there are gaps in the setup of the email security DNS associated with their domain.
-
Protect your domain from phishing and spoofing attacks: Cloudflare guides website owners through the process of creating the necessary DNS records to ensure that their domain is secure. Creating these DNS records prevents malicious actors from spoofing the email domains of unsuspecting users and sending fraudulent messages.
Cloudflare also announced its Advanced Email Security Suite, which tightly integrates email protection with Cloudflare One, including browser isolation. The suite offers full email scanning for security threats and works in front of any email hosting provider to complement the anti-spam and security protection they offer. With Cloudflare’s global network blocking an average of 87 billion cyber threats every day, the company has unique threat intelligence that enables it to target targeted phishing attacks (spear phishing) and other security threats that general-purpose email hosting providers overlook can filter out more effectively.
