Austin, Texas, July 28, 2021 / PRNewswire / – CoinDesk announced today that its largest annual event, Consensus, is returning to a personal format and in Austin, Texas, for the first time in its seven-year history. Since 2015, Consensus has been considered the most influential event in the field of cryptocurrency and blockchain. Texas is becoming a magnet for the blockchain industry. In June, Texas governor Gregor Abbott signed the Virtual Currency Bill, which recognizes the legal status of virtual currencies. The law changes Texas’ Unified Commercial Code to better align commercial law with blockchain and digital assets, formally define virtual currencies, and provide a legal environment for individuals and businesses to invest in crypto.
