ROSE VALLEY – Boy Scouts of America Troop 272’s Bobby Fooskas was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout at his troop awards ceremony on May 19 at the Old Mill in Rose Valley. He follows in the footsteps of his father, who is also an Eagle Scout. Bobby, 16, is the son of Robert and Emily Fooskas from Wallingford.
Bobby’s Eagle Scout project performed landscaping at both the Hedgerow Theater and Hedgerow House in Rose Valley. His work in these locations gave the properties a fresh and well-groomed appearance that made them more visually appealing and places the community can be proud of. This project had added significance to Bobby as Hedgerow House was part of his great-grandmother’s homestead, the Hollingsworth Estate. Bobby, a sophomore at Strath Haven High School, is also an honorary student and three sports athletes.

Woman in wheelchair Pennsylvania is looking for candidates
The Ms. Wheelchair Pennsylvania organization is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit and is not a beauty contest, but rather a contest to select the most eloquent speaker to serve as a role model and advocate for Pennsylvanians with disabilities.
Ms. Wheelchair Pennsylvania is part of the national organization Ms. Wheelchair America, not to be confused with Ms. Wheelchair USA, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this summer. Participants will be rated on self-awareness, communication, drive, and projection skills.
The winning title holder will have the opportunity to tour Keystone State and educate various groups about the problems people with disabilities face on a daily basis. She will have the opportunity to share her chosen platform, interact with the media, and network with many people across Pennsylvania. Her reign will lead to a national competition in which she will compete for the title of Ms. Wheelchair America. The five other women selected for the competition can join the Ambassador program, where they learn the skills, meet people, and form a sorority to hone their skills to compete for the title in the future. This year, all six women competing for the title will be recognized and given travel funds to travel across Keystone State while with the organization. They will go to events to educate and raise awareness of their important platforms.
