CVS Health to Invest $11.6 Million in Affordable Housing in Austin

Homelessness is a critical and pressing problem in India Austin. The development of Espero Austin in Rutland will help address this issue by providing shelter for the homeless or homeless, those with physical, mental and / or developmental disabilities, and youth aging out of foster families.

CVS Health works with Caritas from Austin, The Vecino Group and Austin Housing Finance Corporation to build the Espero Austin apartment complex in Rutland. The new development, which started on Rutland Drive in 1934 Austin is to accommodate 171 people in studio apartments. Further funding partners are the City of Austin and the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs.

Caritas from Austin will provide evidence-based support free of charge to all Espero residents. The people who live at Espero Austin in Rutland are supported by social service workers, including peer support specialists who share the residents’ life experiences. In addition to this personalized approach, the services provided also include education, employment support, nutrition, and the connection to resources for mental and physical health. Planned amenities include a secured entrance, fitness center, a courtyard for residents, a common room and bicycle parking.
