DaBaby loses more gigs despite new apology for anti-gay remarks

LOS ANGELES, Aug 3 (Reuters) – Rapper DaBaby was dropped from the line-up of two other music festivals on Tuesday, despite apologizing for the third time last month for being homophobic
Festival organizers iHeartRadio and Austin City Limits said in statements that DaBaby will no longer perform at their events. That comes after the American musician was dropped from the Lollapalooza lineup in Chicago last weekend and the upcoming Governor’s Ball in New York and the Day N Vegas event in Las Vegas.
DaBaby apologized for the third time on Monday for what he said at a July 23 concert in Miami when he asked the audience to keep the lights on on their cell phones if they “don’t show up today with HIV / AIDS, one of which sexually fatal ”. His previous apologies have been criticized as incomplete or insincere.
Elton John, Madonna and Dua Lipa are among the prominent musicians who condemned DaBaby’s remarks. He also lost a branding deal with clothing line BoohooMan.
