AUSTIN, TX – Tesla’s California executive team had no idea Elon Musk was planning to relocate Tesla’s headquarters to Texas until it was announced at its annual general meeting last month, according to a report from Bloomberg.

On October 7, Musk announced that Tesla would move its headquarters from Palo Alto to Austin, citing Bay Area house prices, restrictions on business expansion, and commute lengths as reasons to leave the Golden State.
