Frances Curtis Bogy, 100 years old, died on July 1, 2021 in Austin, Texas with her family by her side. Frances was born in Hale County. Texas to Edward Hoyle Curtis and Lillian Amanda Burch on November 28, 1920. She graduated from her high school class, graduated from business school, and moved to San Antonio, TX in 1943, where she worked as an accountant in the oil and gas industry. She married Louis T. Bogy DPM in 1954, and they spent 49 happy years together until his death in 2004. She leaves behind a son, William Bogy, and daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Ted Sutherland, granddaughters Kaylyn Bogy and Arielle and Isabelle Sutherland. Frances had many interests, including gardening, travel, and family history. In 1989, after years of carefully researching her family, she published A Curtis Genealogy. She loved her extended family and many friends, and was particularly looking forward to the Bogy Family Thanksgiving, a tradition she held from 1970 to 2016. Instead of sending flowers, please make donations to the San Antonio Food Bank or Central Texas Food Bank. A memorial service will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. We ask you to respect the family’s wishes and not to appear if you are not vaccinated.
