CLARKSVILLE, TN – Furniture Connection of Clarksville recently made a generous donation to help create an educational foundation for the benefit of Austin Peay State University students.

To be eligible, students must be enrolled full-time at APSU and pursue a teacher training license. Applicants must also have junior or senior status, demonstrate financial need, and have a GPA of at least 3.5. This scholarship is renewable.

“Teachers have the opportunity to change the lives of their students,” said David Berggren of Furniture Connection. “We want to help them face their circumstances directly and break the cycle – no excuses.”

Foundations are permanently restricted funds administered by the Austin Peay State University Foundation. The amount of each scholarship can vary and is determined based on the value of the foundation and the foundation’s spending plan.

“This new foundation will enrich the college experience of some of our most deserving students,” said Kris Phillips, vice president of university funding. “We are particularly grateful for this gift because it helps to prepare you for the special challenges of your future teaching career.”
