Governor Greg Abbott appointed Carolina Castillo Crimm, Ph.D., Don Frazier, Ph.D., and Kevin Roberts, Ph.D., who will serve as president, to the Texas 1836 Project Advisory Committee for an expiring term Jan. September 2023. The Texas 1836 Project Advisory Committee was established by HB 2497 (87R) to promote patriotic education and raise awareness of the Texan values ​​that continue to promote limitless prosperity in the state.

Carolina Castillo Crimm, Ph.D. of Huntsville retired as Professor Emeritus at Sam Houston State University. She has over 30 years of experience in teaching, business and administration. She has taught in elementary and high schools in Florida and Texas, as well as colleges and universities. She is a member of the Texas State Historical Association, a past member of Humanities Texas, a board member of the Walker County Historical Commission, the Main Street Commission, the Central Texas Historical Association, and the East Texas Historical Association. She is also a member of the League of Latin American Citizens, Daughters of the American Revolution and a board member of the Old Town Theater in Huntsville. Crimm received a Bachelor of Arts in History and Social Sciences from the University of Miami, a Masters of Arts in Architecture Preservation from Texas Tech University, and a PhD in Philosophy in Latin American History from the University of Texas at Austin.

Don Frazier, Ph.D. of Kerrville is the director of the Texas Center at Schreiner University and was previously a professor at McMurry University in Abilene for over 25 years. He is an elected member of the Philosophical Society of Texas, Scholar / Director of the Texas Historical Foundation, and a past member of the Texas State Historical Association. He is also a board member of the Heart of the Hills Heritage Center and an advisor to the Alamo Historical Advisory Committee. Frazier received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Masters of Arts and PhD in Philosophy in History from Texas Christian University.

Kevin Roberts, Ph.D. of Liberty Hill is CEO of the Texas Public Policy Foundation. He previously served as President of Wyoming Catholic College in Lander, WY, and Founder and Principal of John Paul the Great Academy in Lafayette, LA. He is a member of the Council for National Policy and the National Association of Scholars. Roberts received a Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Louisiana, a Masters of Arts in history from Virginia Tech, and a PhD in philosophy in American history from the University of Texas at Austin.
