In a racing environment where success is measured in milliseconds, real-time performance data and attention to detail are critical. Epicor Kinetic’s industrial productivity platform for manufacturers enables Scuderia AlphaTauri to centrally manage all processes and data across its operations and optimize every aspect of the team’s production, inventory, unit testing and finances with greater speed, accuracy and organizational visibility.

Only one racing car consists of more than 14,000 precision parts. Many of these parts are custom made on site by technical designers and engineers. In the past, with legacy, isolated software systems and manual processes, it was difficult to manage the production of each part, understand the lifespan, and make sure the right parts were ready for race day.
Today, with Kinetic, Scuderia AlphaTauri can automatically render a complete schematic structure of their racing cars and each part, all tracked serially, and save a snapshot of this structure which is coded for a specific race. During component production, Kinetic automates the job creation process for each part, minimizing data entry and speeding up productivity. The team also has a detailed view of which machine, operator, and tools were used to manufacture each part, and helps develop cost analysis models that support make-or-buy decisions, as well as quickly correcting production problems before it goes on the track.
During the tests, the Scuderia AlphaTauri superimposes any telemetry data collected on the track by the more than 900 sensors on board each racing car, providing precise and accurate insight into the performance of individual parts as each part is installed or replaced, as well as predictive ones Analyzes. The team can also automatically “flip” the data onto previous snapshots of the vehicle structure to help pinpoint potential component problems and ensure that a problem is not replicated.
