On Friday, September 17, 2021, Kevin died peacefully in his home of a pulmonary embolism after knee surgery.

If you could say of a person, “He was a man with no enemies,” Kevin was that man. He had a sharp mind and wit. He was very fond of joking. He was born on July 22nd, 1964 in Moscow to Jerry and Raylene “Baune” Kasper. He was the third oldest of eight. On New Year’s Eve 1989 he found the love of his life, Lori Ausman, whom Kevin introduced to her son Kyle, and that was the start of their family. Lori and Kevin added Austin and Trenton to complete their family. Kevin later gave Kyle his last name. He loved spending time with his sons, in the mountains, riding horses and traveling to wrestling tournaments.

During these years her sons’ friends called him “Pa”. He also shared his love of camping, hunting and fishing with all his family and friends. One freedom and lifestyle Kevin loved was working the family ranch – moving, branding, and slaughtering cattle. This enabled Kevin to see God’s land on horseback.

Kevin proudly worked as a master electrician at Flerchinger Electric for 26 years. In 2017 Kevin received his favorite title “Papa” when his first grandchild Kallahan was born. Two years later, she was followed by a second granddaughter, Kensington. They never parted without exchanging “I love you”, “I love you more”, “I love you most”. The best part of 2020 was taking in his grandchildren Jadeyn and Jace. Kevin traveled the entire Pacific Northwest for Jadeyn’s horse shows, making sure Jadeyn had a “locker room” and Jace had a “quiet place to nap.” “Papa” Jadeyn gave an encouraging speech every time before she stepped into the ring, said “Take care of your ice cream cones” and simply said, “Go out there and have fun.” He never missed a beat and fully took them both into the family.

Kevin leaves behind his wife Lori, son Kyle (K’Lee, Kallahan, Kensington), son Austin (Erica, Jadeyn, Jace), son Trenton and bought his German son Philipp (Beke) in 2001. also survived from his mother Raylene and second father Ray along with siblings Mike (Tracey), Jeff (Jeanette), Elizabeth (Jim Garrett), Katye (Carl Harris) Kasper, Ted, Ralyn and Quin Wenhoff; his brothers-in-law Mark (Glenda) Ausman and Nick (Amy) Ausman; Sister-in-law Deb Ausman; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. His father Jerry preceded him in death; Father-in-law and mother-in-law Gary and Yvonne Ausman; Sister-in-law Andrea Wemhoff; Brother-in-law Rick Ausman; and sister-in-law Audrey Ausman.
