Kolaches, hardware and apartments: 5 new businesses coming soon to Round Rock

From new homes to kolaches, Round Rock will be home to several new businesses in the coming months.

The Frontier Bank of Texas is expanding to 7509 O’Connor Drive, Round Rock. The community bank, headquartered in Elgin, will convert an existing building to incorporate a customer lobby, drive-up banking, night money and ATMs. This will be the bank’s seventh location, along with others in Elgin, Bastrop, Manor, Leander, and Austin that have opened since it was founded in 2007. 512-281-1500. www.frontierbankoftexas.bank

Legacy Senior Residences II arrives at 1551 Red Bud Lane, Round Rock in August 2022. Construction of the affordable senior housing estate began in April 2021. According to the approval information from the City of Round Rock, the development will include around 200 residential units of affordable senior housing with studio, one and two-room apartments in a three-story building. This is the second affordable development under development by Cornerstone Associates, with the first on 1001 University, Blvd., Round Rock. www.legacysenior.com

Lone Star Kolaches is coming to the former Little Red Wagon Hamburgers location at 1207 E. Palm Valley Blvd., Round Rock this October. Owners Massey and Allen Wallace own six other Lonestar Kolaches locations in the Austin area, all of which offer traditional Kolache sweet pastries, egg kolaches and sausage kolaches. Other kolache varieties on the menu include barbecue, pizza rolls, Philly cheesesteak, and chicken quesadilla. Little Red Wagon closed in January.

Rockler Woodworking and Hardware opens at 2701-A Parker Drive, Round Rock, in the La Frontera Village Shopping Center in late September. The Minnesota-based chain specializes in tools and woodworking materials such as exclusive finishes and colors. According to the company’s website, it has sustainable products and an emphasis on recycling to support growth through the Harwood Forestry Project. www.rockler.com
