*LONG TERM CLOSURE: SPECIAL TRAFFIC WARNING

On Sunday, April 25th at 10:00 p.m., the existing flyover from I-35 north to US 183 north will be closed to traffic if the weather permits.

During the closure, the crews will demolish and rebuild part of the overpass. The construction time is expected to take around four months.

A long-term diversion will be set up to accommodate this change.

Northbound I-35 drivers wishing to access US 183 northbound should take the Rundberg Lane exit (# 241) and take the unsigned U-turn at Rundberg Lane to join the new I-35 heading North to access the flyover of US 183 north.

I-35 AT POSEY ROAD.

PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project will build a new flyover on I-35 over Posey Road, add two new U-turns in each direction on Posey Road, perform ramp reversals, and convert two-lane front streets into a one-way street.

Currently, the main lanes of I-35 pass under Posey Road. With the new configuration, the main lanes of I-35 lead over Posey Road.

This project is made possible by a partnership between Hays County / TxDOT and is expected to cost $ 31.7 million, funded by TxDOT.

Construction on I-35 and Posey Road began in February 2019 and construction is expected to be completed in mid-2021. The project contractor is Webber, LLC.

I-35 FROM RM 150 TO KYLE CROSSING

PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project will reconfigure the northbound entry and exit ramps between RM 150 and Kyle Crossing. Improvements include reversing the entry / exit ramps north, rebuilding the front road north, adding new expanded lanes between the entry / exit ramps, and building a new front road bridge over Plum Creek.

The estimated construction cost is $ 21.9 million and is funded by CAMPO and TxDOT. Construction began in September 2020 and is expected to be completed in early 2022. Hunter Industries, Ltd is the contractor for this project.

RIVER RIDGE PARKWAY

PROJECT OVERVIEW | The work includes relocating the existing I-35 driveway north, building a new driveway north, rebuilding the front road north, and adding a new extended on / off lane.

The estimated construction cost is $ 14 million, funded by CAMPO and TxDOT. Construction began in January 2021 and is expected to be completed in mid-2022. Hunter Industries, Ltd is the contractor for this project.

I-35 FROM STASSNEY TO WILLIAM CANNON DR

PROJECT OVERVIEW | As part of the project, the Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive bridges and the road bridge over Williamson Creek will be reconstructed. Improvements to bicycles and pedestrians are also being made, and new safety lighting is being installed.

New U-turn bridges will be added in both directions on Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive. The main lanes of I-35 will be widened to accommodate hard shoulders and widened entry / exit lanes for a smoother confluence with I-35.

This major project is valued at $ 78.8 million. Construction began in July 2016 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2020. The contractor for this project is OHL, USA, Inc.

The right lane of I-35 heading north is closed daily on Boggy Creek Drive.
• Monday 21 June to Thursday 24 June from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Southbound I-35 alternating closures from Slaughter Lane exit (# 227) to Slaughter Lane. The Slaughter Lane exit (# 227) and the entrance to William Cannon Drive will also be closed.

The left lane of I-35 southbound is closed from Corral Lane to the driveway to William Cannon Drive.

I-35 VON RUNDBERG LN. TO US 290 EAST

PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project includes the rebuilding of main lanes and front roads as well as the addition of three new flyovers at US 183.

The I-35 from Rundberg Lane to US 290 East costs an estimated $ 124.2 million and is made possible by the Texas Clear Lanes Congestion Relief Fund.

Construction started in January 2018 and the expected completion date is mid-2021. The contractor for this project is JD Abrams.

PROJECT OVERVIEW | Less traffic jams, improved mobility on Parmer Lane and Lamar Boulevard, operational efficiency, more reliable travel times, lower fuel consumption.

The estimated cost of building this project is funded by Texas Clear Lanes and CAMPO at an estimated $ 24.6 million.

Construction began in July 2019 and is expected to be completed by mid-2021. Primoris Services Corporation is the project contractor.

PROJECT ACTIVITY | Improvements include reversing ramps, the construction of an extended entry / exit lane on the main lanes of I-35 heading north under SH-45 North, along the front road, installing high-mast lighting, and improvements to Picadilly Drive and I-35- Front street.

The projected cost is estimated at $ 8.2 million and is funded by CAMPO and TxDOT. Construction work will begin in August 2020 and is expected to be completed in mid-2021. The project was commissioned by Jordan Foster Construction.
