Austin, Texas, August 25, 2021 / PRNewswire / – In response to e-commerce shippers’ need for clear, consistent, and affordable shipping rates, Lone Star Overnight (LSO) is announcing its high season surcharge plan. For the most part, it is simpler and less expensive than that of its major national competitors. On average, LSO’s top surcharge is a significantly lower surcharge for every package that our e-commerce senders send with us in between October 15, 2021, and 13th January, 2022. There are no volume-dependent thresholds at the beginning of the year and no staggered surcharges. The exact surcharge will vary by customer based on each customer’s unique shipping characteristics and volume over the year. There is a $ 0.00 Top surcharge for small business owners.

A real problem for your in-house accounting teams and freight auditors is figuring out which packages are getting a surcharge, rather than a lower surcharge for each package tailored to its specific shipping characteristics that most affect our peak costs. That way, if any of our customers have lower cost features in the high season, they are not subsidizing other customers whose packages are more expensive to service. I strongly advise everyone to complete their peak projections and complete their technology and operations implementation plans regardless of their choice of carrier. This is the best that shippers can do to maximize service and minimize costs. We grew 70% last year and our ecommerce product line grew 185%. It’s going to be another big year for us, driven mostly by e-commerce.
