Meet the 8 ‘Media Houses’ During SXSW

[ad_1]

This year is almost over and we are less than 6 months away from one of the biggest events in film, technology and music. I’m referring, of course, to the South by Southwest Festival (SXSW), an event that has been going on in Austin, Texas since March 1987.

With the 2020 edition canceled and the 2021 edition online, SXSW is ready to return as a face-to-face event in 2022. Patrons (virtual or in person) can enjoy 10 days of conference sessions, networking and demonstrations, exhibitions, mentoring sessions, competitions, music jams, showcases and more.

Although vaccination efforts have progressed, Covid-19 remains a cause for concern. As a result, the event organizers will be working closely with the Austin health authorities to ensure the safety of the assistants while allowing the event to run as normally as possible.

Austin is ready to welcome thousands of people from around the world again as the whole city celebrates innovation and creativity … And 8 media houses, including us who participated in the celebrations in previous editions, may be hosting side events too its beginning of March. It’s time to meet you!

Father gone

One of the most popular and anticipated showcases at SXSW, Fader Fort is an invitation-only event that features live musical performances. This 4 day party is organized by The Fader, New York Magazine which has been reporting on emerging music and its lifestyle for years. It is not for nothing that she compares herself to “the authorities about what’s next”.

Father gone.

Fader Fort has involved several prominent figures in the music industry, including Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Travis Scott, Usher, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Cardi B, and many more. If you want to party and meet the next generation of artists, Fader Fort is for you.

In 2020, Fader Fort was fully online. Usually the queue to get access for the personal version is around the block. Even if the tickets are not online yet, subscribe to receive them as soon as they are published.

Grit Daily House

Organized by Grit Daily, this 9-day event is the perfect place for entrepreneurs looking for the “indie” or “old school” version of SXSW of yesteryear. While the content is super exclusive with brand activations and cool panel discussions that emphasize the local community, Grit Daily House caters to customers who want to learn about the brands of the future or want to keep up with the world of entrepreneurship. New York-based Grit Daily has grown to become one of the top news centers in terms of technology, entrepreneurship, fashion, and finance. All of these experiences are carried over into its space in SXSW, which counts with panels and other events with some of the most influential actors in the medium.

One block away from “The Spotify House”, the Grit Daily House will host the event again this year. Wine, food, panels, music, games, tech demos, networking, and parties are on the list … and if any of these are your thing, be sure to join. Networking, doing business, keeping up to date, good food and partying … who could resist?

2022 will highlight NFTs, investments in cryptocurrency by fintech, and an eclectic mix of celebrities.

CNN’s clubhouse

As one of the most recognized media outlets in the United States and the world, CNN couldn’t resist the opportunity to participate in previous editions of SXSW. While the media giant was mostly focused on hosting themed parties, its clubhouse was a great place for SXSW visitors to network with journalists and CNN executives … And of course, party!

The CNN clubhouse has seen the likes of Rev. Run and Biz Markie keep drawing party-goers. While it’s still not clear whether CNN will rejoin after the personal SXSW returns, we recommend keeping an eye out for any announcements.

Uproxx house

Another event for everyone who wants to celebrate SXSW after a day! This 3-night showcase is hosted by Uproxx, a digital media company that covers everything related to web culture and entertainment.

This media company is about celebrating innovations in the music and film industry. If you’re looking for a night out with snacks, cocktails and parties, Uproxx House is a must see. But wait! The Uproxx house also holds live panel discussions and showcases in case you need an excuse.

New York Times showcase

The New York Times, a no-introduction news organization, stepped onto SXSW in 2016, 2017 and 2019 to present showcases about virtual reality (VR) and music. As the sun went down, the NYT made sure the partygoers enjoyed the night after a day of panels, interactive experiences, and networking.

It is not yet known if the New York Times will be attending this edition of SXSW, but if they do, you will likely want to be a part of it. This showcase has proven that it is at the forefront when it comes to creating unique experiences for its attendees while at the same time remaining stylish and professional for those looking for something a little less casual.

Fast Company Grill

Fast Company has grown into one of the largest business media brands and has brought all of its love for innovation, creativity and design to SXSW for over a decade. The exclusive event opens its doors for 4 days to tech-savvy attendees looking for panels, demos, and interactive experiences … as well as lunch and drinks!

If you feel like you’ve partied too much and are looking for a more relaxed yet fun presentation, check out the Fast Company Grill.

Inc. founder house

Another business media giant based in New York, Inc. participated in the 2019 edition of SXSW and planned to do so again in 2020 before it was canceled. The event was aimed at entrepreneurs who want to start and expand their company through networking and convincing discussions.

If breakfast tacos, inspirational conversation, networking, cocktails and star entrepreneurs are your thing, keep an eye out for the SXSW Inc.Founders House 2022 announcements.

Mashable house

The Mashable House 2018 will take you into another dimensionMashable house.

People like Hulk Hogan and Cory Booker have attended this 3-day event in the past … as well as internet celebrities Grumpy Cat! It is operated by Mashable, the international digital culture media company, and is one of SXSW’s most popular showcases.

If you want to find out what the internet would be like in real life while having fun and having an interactive experience around an important topic that changes every year, you could enjoy Mashable House.
