More than $1B, 425-acre EastVillage project to break ground in early June, plus four more development updates in Austin

EastVillage will redesign the East Parmer Lane area across from Samsung by completion in 2028, adding thousands of homes, three hotels, a grocery store, and more. Elsewhere, a 400,000 square foot office project near the University of Texas has been completed and a future medical office project in North Central Austin has been accomplished.

1. 1836 San Jacinto, a 400,000 square foot, ten story office tower on San Jacinto Blvd. 1836, Austin, celebrated its opening in April with a grand opening ceremony. The property has around 14,000 square meters of retail space on the ground floor as well as an underground car park and three above-ground parking levels. 2. Centro, a mixed-use project at 1412 E. Fifth St., Austin, will open its first phase of 165,000 square feet of office space in early 2022. The project laid the foundation stone at the end of 2020 and will include around 15,000 square meters of retail space and a total of 330,000 square meters of office space. 3. EastVIllage in the mixed-use Tech Ridge area is scheduled to break ground in early June. The $ 1 billion project is located on 425 acres at 3500 E. Parmer Lane, Austin, across from the Samsung Austin Semiconductor campus. EastVillage will include 2,000 apartment buildings and 466 single-family homes, plus three hotels, a grocery store, movie theater, restaurant, retail and office space, and 150 acres of forest reserve. 4. Hoar Construction towered over the Lamar Boulevard Medical Office Building near Shoal Creek Trail on May 7th. Located at 1004 W. 32nd St., Austin, it is used by businesses that support nearby Ascension Seton. www.hoar.com

5. The Pharr Tennis Center at 4201 Brookview Road, Austin, is due to begin a renovation project this summer, with construction scheduled for completion in 2022. The $ 2.7 million project, funded by Austin’s 2018 bond and led by Kirksey Architecture, includes the replacement of eight seats as well as a rain garden among other additional amenities.
