A mixed-use complex with more than 800 apartments is being built along Manor Road in East Austin.
Austin-based real estate developer Cumby Group announced on Aug. 24 that it plans to build three neighboring projects with more than 800 homes and 150,000 square feet of residential and commercial space. The projects will be located on almost 9 hectares between Airport Boulevard and the Mueller development.
Work is underway on The Emma, an Art Deco five-story building at 3219 Manor Road. Providing 146 apartments. The facilities include a live work space on the ground floor and a raised courtyard pool. Emma is slated to open next summer.
Next door at 3115 Manor Rd., The Cumby Group plans to build a few five-story, mixed-use buildings with a total of 450 to 500 apartments. Amenities include work and commercial space, as well as a neighborhood neighborhood that can include food trucks, a manufacturers ‘market, and a farmers’ market. Construction is scheduled to start in spring 2022.
The third project, 3303 Manor Rd., Is expected to supply around 200 apartments and an area for food trucks.
“The opportunity to remodel more than one block in downtown isn’t often, and we’ve worked hard to do so to meet the needs and goals of the surrounding neighborhood as well as the east of Austin’s vibrant culture,” says Melissa Brown , Vice President of Cumby Development, in a press release. “Together, these three projects will provide a significant amount of living space for people on a broad income spectrum close to workplaces and public transport, while also creating engaging spaces that bring people together.”
