Music Friendly Community Workshop In Port Aransas

Austin, TX Governor Greg Abbott announced that the Texas Music Office (TMO) and Visit Port Aransas will be hosting a Music Friendly Community Workshop on Tuesday, July 13th.
TMO Community Relations & Outreach Specialist Chip Adams will be in attendance to explain the term Music Friendly Community and answer questions.
Participation in TMO’s Music Friendly Community program provides Texas communities with a network to promote the development of the music industry and sends a clear message to industry experts that certified communities are serious about attracting and developing the growth of the music industry. The Port Aransas workshop is the first step in the certification process. When completed, Port Aransas will be among more than 20 other Texas cities to have received the coveted “Music Friendly” award.
“As we unleash the full power of the Texan economy, I am committed to working with community and business leaders in Port Aransas to ensure they have the knowledge and tools they need to be successful,” said Governor Abbott. “Music is a big part of the Texas brand and our local economy, and I thank the Texas Music Office for helping communities large and small to strengthen creative partnerships and fuel new business growth.”
“Port Aransas is already a musical powerhouse for celebrating the live music scene in Texas,” said Brett Stawar, President and CEO of Port Aransas Tourism and Chamber of Commerce. “Port Aransas is home to over 25 live music venues with regular live music performances. In the Gulf, Port Aransas leads the way in hosting live music performances and welcomes the opportunity to be a music-friendly community. “
Musicians, venues and the public are invited.
