According to the lawsuit, investigators damaged and compromised Paul’s business reputation and affairs, and suffered financial losses from the raid.
AUSTIN, Texas – World Class Holdings owner and noted Austin financial investor Nate Paul has filed a lawsuit against state and federal officials alleging violations of its fourth and fifth amending rights.
According to the lawsuit, Paul said those rights were violated when FBI agents and the Texas State Securities Board raided World Class Holdings’ offices, home, and storage facilities in August 2019 without a valid warrant or probable reason.
Investigators allegedly purposely produced an affidavit containing false material evidence in order to obtain the search warrants of the properties in question under the lawsuit. You have also “knowingly and willfully omitted or omitted essential facts or statements” from the affidavit.
Investigators reportedly arrested Paul’s employees during the searches and attempted to intimidate and prevent Paul and his employees from lawfully observing, questioning, or objecting to the detention, search, seizure or damage to property under the lawsuit. The lawsuit goes on to say that investigators “deliberately damaged plaintiffs ‘property for no legal justification or probable cause” and “failed to return plaintiffs’ property by denying them legal possession and use of their property “.
The lawsuit states that investigators also badly damaged and compromised Paul’s business reputation and affairs, and suffered “significant financial losses” when speaking to the news media saying that Paul and World Class Holdings are under criminal investigation.
Paul tries to seek damages from the defendants but did not specify a specific amount in the lawsuit. Instead, the lawsuit states that the damage should be determined in the process.
KVUE first reported the FBI’s presence in the World Class Holdings office area in 2019 when officials said they couldn’t discuss the nature of their work there. Several world-class companies have filed for bankruptcy since the FBI raid.
According to the World Class website, Paul is the company’s founder, chairman, president and CEO. The website states that he founded it in 2007 and is one of the largest private real estate owners in the country, and that Paul is the youngest person in history to start and own a billion dollar real estate company.
Paul was recently mentioned by top aide to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton when the seven aides alleged that Paxton was engaged in possible illegal activities with his relationship and activities with Paul. The seven aides urged federal law enforcement agencies to investigate Paxton for the crimes committed in his capacity as attorney general.
