Noteworthy:

RIVAL RIVAL RENEWED: As the Texas Longhorns continue to work their way through a robust no-conference schedule 2021-22, they stand in line for another test earlier this season as they head to College Station for a rivalry showdown in the state with the undefeated and the number 17 travel / 15 rank Texas A&M. Texas leads a sovereign 62-24 lead in the all-time series with the Aggies. UT fell against A&M, 66-61, when they last met in Austin last season.

ONE LAST BATTLE: Sunday’s Tilt promises not only to be an exciting matchup on the pitch, but also a special moment for Texas Head Coach Vic Schaefer as he is likely to be training against his friend and former coaching partner Gary Blair in the Aggies Hall of Famer will be the last time. Coach Blair announced his retirement after the 2021/22 season a few weeks ago. Schaefer was the deputy head coach of Blair from 2003 to 2011 and Akransas from 2000 to 2003. Schaefer will be 8-11 years old when he competes against his longtime mentor.

EXCELLENT EBO: Senior Center Lauren Ebo has given the Longhorns a solid performance in the mail for the last four games in the starting XI. The DC native averaged 11.3 points and 8.3 rebounds, and 66.6 percent (18 of 27) off the floor, over the last four competitions. She led the team with 14 points and seven rebounds in Wednesday’s win against Jackson State.

SCOUTING THE AGGIES: Texas A&M are on their way with a glowing 8-0 to kick off the 2021-22 campaign. They beat Little Rock in their last game on Wednesday 65:50 at home. The Aggies enter the slope on Sunday and lead the nation with a three-point field goal percentage and shoot a 45.5 percent clip. Grad Transfer Kayla Wells leads the A&M offensively with an average of 16.8 points per game. Jordan Nixon is second in the squad with an average of 15.8 points. Nun and Nixon shoot 52.9 and 47.9 percent respectively from the three-point range. The Aggies are the reigning champions of the Southeastern Conference in the regular season and we are selected third in the SEC coach survey 2021-22.
