The OAK VIEW GROUP has expanded its leadership team for AUSTIN, TX’s MOODY CENTER, a new state-of-the-art, privately funded arena valued at $ 338 million, with the hiring of TRUDES SWEETEN as VP Events and SETH BAILEY as VP Technology. Both will immediately take on their new roles and report to OVG ARENA and STADIUM ALLIANCE SVP and MOODY CENTER GM JEFF NICKLER and OVG AUSTIN VP / MOODY CENTER AGM CASEY SPARKS.
NICKLER: “From day one, our goal has been to build a talented and dynamic management team in the MOODY CENTER. Together, TRUES and SETH bring over three decades of experience in arena, event management and live entertainment to our organization. I am sure that they will complement and contribute to the culture we are building at OVG AUSTIN. “
As VP Events, SWEETEN will oversee and manage the events department, which is responsible for monitoring, planning and coordinating all events in the MOODY CENTER. She was previously AGM at EL PASO LIVE and spent 10 years as Director of Events at BCK CENTER and COX CONVENTION CENTER in TULSA, OK.
SWEETEN: “MOODY CENTER is one of the most unique projects I have participated in. I know that AUSTIN has been waiting a long time for such a venue and I am looking forward to turning this vision into reality. “
As VP / Technology, BAILEY will oversee and provide the strategic plans for all plant technologies in the MOODY CENTER. Before joining OVG, Bailey was Director of Technology at BOK CENTER & COX BUSINESS CONVENTION CENTER in TULSA, OK, where he oversaw all facets of building technology including video production and IT departments.
BAILEY commented, “I am very happy to be joining such a strong team here in AUSTIN, led by executives like JEFF and CASEY. It’s incredible to be part of the culture that the OAK VIEW GROUP has already built here. To have all of that and to do it in a world-class city like AUSTIN is a dream come true. “
The MOODY CENTER, which debuts in APRIL 2022, will host THE WEEKND, JUSTIN BIEBER, JOHN MAYER for two nights and THE KILLER. Other important announcements will be made later this year. It will also be home to TEXAS men’s and women’s basketball teams, degrees, as well as universities, high schools and other events for the local AUSTIN community.
