P. Terry’s adds a fourth San Antonio location

Fr Terry’s expansion in San Antonio goes to the far west side. The Austin-based burger chain’s first restaurant in San Antonio opened at the Medical Center in June when it also announced two more locations. Now the company is ordering a fourth P. Terry’s in Alamo City.
CEO Todd Coerver informs MySA that the latest filing from P. Terry in the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation is for a burger joint in Potranco and Loop 1604 in the Shops at Dove Creek development. The restaurant will have a dining room and a two-lane drive-through. Coerver shared a rendering of the new building showing a continuation of P. Terry’s signature Googie aesthetic, a Southern California style influenced by the Space Age of the 1950s and 1960s.
He expects the restaurant to open in spring 2022.
In addition to the medical center and distant locations on the Westside, other P. Terry’s are cooking in San Antonio on 22607 North US Highway 281 and near Blanco Road and Loop 1604, according to Coerver. Construction work on the Stone Oak location is expected to be completed in the spring and the spot Blanco Road and Loop 1604 should be completed according to the documents in the fall of this year.
In June, Coerver said MySA was a “natural choice” for Fr. Terry’s to grow to San Antonio. Coerver, who lived in San Antonio for eight years before joining the burger company, says the expansion is like “coming home”. Fr. Terry founders Patrick and Kathy Terry are equally excited to add San Antonio to the family and are discussing adding Alamo City to their list of locations since Coerver became CEO a few years ago.
The CEO previously told MySA that he recognizes that the city is a stronghold for the locally owned Texan whataburger and burger boy and is expanding too, but is confident that meat heads will have enough room in their appetite for P. Terry’s 100- Have percent Angus beef.
“And we feel like we’re offering it at a ridiculous price. Our burgers are less than $ 3 and combo dishes are less than $ 7. Look elsewhere, I dare you, ”he said this summer.
