Hays County, Texas – Plastikon Industries, a global automaker and well-known supplier of interior components to companies like Tesla and Toyota, is opening a new facility in Kyle at the Plum Creek Logistics Center. The company will initially invest $ 13.6 million and create more than 200 full-time positions in the region.

“We have wanted to go to Texas for a number of years, especially near Austin,” says Mark Petri, Executive Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Plastikon. “Hays County is strategically located for our business operations, and when you add the huge talent pool, existing building infrastructure and housing created by the Plum Creek developers, now was the time for Plastikon to start a new operation in the Texas Innovation Corridor . “

The announcement was made official during Tuesday’s session of the Hays County Commissioners Court, which approved a Chapter 381 performance-based agreement with the company.

The company is currently hiring on-site staff to fill positions at all levels – from senior management to members of the production team. The company will offer competitive salaries, either at or above the national median wage, to attract and retain team members.

As at its previous North American locations, Plastikon plans to work with local school districts to develop training and recruitment programs to prepare its future employees. Construction work on the company’s facility is underway and is expected to be completed in early December. Operations will also start in December.

“Plastikon is a prime example of a manufacturing company in need of an accelerated site selection process that would allow it to start production in just a few months,” said Jason Giulietti, president of the Greater San Marcos Partnership (GSMP). “This site announcement was made possible thanks to the investment and foresight of the Plum Creek developers who provided the specification facility and the great continued support of the Hays County Commissioners.”

This announcement follows on from more than a dozen other key site announcements this year, including goodblend ™ Texas, Iron Ox and Cooperative Laundry, which have also invested millions in capital and are creating hundreds of jobs for the region.

“Plastikon’s investment in our county and the creation of more than 200 jobs will have a long and profound impact on improving the quality of life for many members of our community,” said Hays District Judge Ruben Becerra. “We welcome Plastikon to Hays County and look forward to their success in the Texas Innovation Corridor.”
