Salesforce CEO said the company will help employees leave Texas, and he did so while retweeted a story linking the offer to concerns about Texas’s new anti-abortion law.
Salesforce, which sells customer management software, joins a small number of companies that have responded against Texas law.
CNBC reported that the San Francisco-based company sent a Slack message to its employees that it would help them move “if you have concerns about access to reproductive health care in your state.” Salesforce reported that its Dallas office in Uptown had 1,000 employees last year.
On Friday night, CEO Marc Benioff retweeted a post about the story, adding, “Ohana, if you want to move we’re here to help you get out of TX. Your choice. “Ohana is a Hawaiian term for family.
The company has not returned any messages for comment.
Texas law passed the Republican-controlled state legislature and was signed by Republican Governor Greg Abbott in May, but didn’t go into effect until this month. It bans most abortions after six weeks, before many women know if they are pregnant, and allows private individuals to sue anyone who gives a woman an abortion.
The US Supreme Court rejected a blockade of the law by 5: 4 votes. The US Department of Justice last week sued Texas for blocking the law.

Transportation service providers Uber and Lyft, both based in San Francisco, have announced they will pay legal fees for any drivers sued for taking a woman to an abortion clinic. Dating app providers Match Group and Bumble, both based in Texas, are creating relief funds for people affected by the law.
A California-based public relations firm with employees in Austin has also offered to help their employees move out of Texas.
Abortion rights activists have pressured Texan companies to criticize the law, but most have remained silent.
