Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s High School invites everyone to begin its Christmas festivities by participating in the production of “Eleven.”
“Eleven” will be performed on Friday, November 19 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, November 20 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, November 21 at 2:00 p.m. in the Auditorium of St. Mary’s Catholic School
Based on the popular Christmas film of the same name “Eleven” is the story of Buddy (Jacob Stevens), a young orphan who accidentally crawls into Santa’s (John Miller’s) gift bag and is transported to the North Pole.
The would-be elf is brought up without knowing that he is actually human until he faces the truth because of his enormous size and poor toy-making skills. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a trip to New York City to find his birth father (CJ Suprenant) and his father’s wife (Natalie Marti) and to discover his true identity.
Faced with the harsh reality that his father is on the naughty list and his half-brother (Austin Forster) doesn’t even believe in Santa Claus, Buddy is determined to win his new family over and help New York realize its true meaning to remember of Christmas.
Julia Helget (Jovie), a shop elf from Macy’s, and Jacob Stevens (Buddy), a young orphan who goes to New York to find his birth father and father’s wife and to discover his true identity.
In New York, Buddy also meets Jovie (Julia Helget), a shop elf at Macy’s who becomes the object of Buddy’s total admiration.
With an outstanding cast, great musical and dance numbers and a wonderful Christmas message “Eleven” is the perfect way to celebrate Christmas.
“So many people went out of their way to make sure this production was unforgettable. We have every piece of the musical puzzle weighted in our favor: adorable backdrops, glowing costumes, cute choreography (by choreographer Gary Sassenberg) and amazing talent. “ said director Geri Pelzel. “Put it all together and you have a breathtaking production.”
