So bring your family and friends, relax after a long week of work and enjoy the sounds of some of the classics from last year as well as new attractions. Don’t forget your blanket, lounge chair, and picnic.
The opening night for Music in the Park begins on July 9th with the recurring favorite ball in the house. This R&B / soul / pop a cappella group is third year based in Boston. These five distinct voices create music that engages the audience for singing, dancing, and even beatboxing.
One of the most popular series, Los Sugar Kings, will air on July 16. A Boston-based quartet known for their dynamic live performances of traditional tunes from their Afro-Cuban son, rumba-flamenca and salsa, while adding their own unique repertoire. This is always a fun, energetic show that will keep you moving.
New to the summer series is Soul City from Boston on July 23rd. Soul City has been filling the dance floors with energetic performances, exciting vocal harmonies, driving grooves and brass since 1988. Known for their high energy and love for music, which they bring to the stage with passion and fun. So much so that the fun with the audience is contagious. Be prepared to be entertained.
On July 30th, ISHNA will return to the summer line-up for the third time! Founded in Dublin, Ireland by tenor Ciaran Nagle and violinist / singer Tara Novak, they toured the world and now have their roots in Peterborough. Your concert will be like no other of traditional Irish music along with world music and songs. Be prepared to be entertained and involved in singing songs that you know and some that you will love to learn. Truly a world experience in Downtown Peterborough.
On August 6th, the incredible Paul Klemperer Band will perform after a COVID period. Klemperer is originally from Boston and now lives in Austin, Texas, where he works as a band leader, teacher, composer and author. He was part of the summer music series from the start and has played a big part in the success of programming great bands! His music contains elements of jazz, R&B legends and his own compositions. No matter what Paul is playing, you can’t resist dancing!
Rounding out the 2021 Summer Music Series on August 13th is one of New Hampshire’s best show bands, The Tom Foolery Band. A nine-member band of trained jazz and classical musicians will delight the audience with Motown, ballads, funk and lots of jazz. The band brings great energy and enthusiasm that is contagious. They will leave you with fantastic memories for the next year.
