This week we present “Seareinas”. The owners of Gabriela’s Group recently opened their doors to a new Mexican seafood restaurant and bar concept in North Austin. Based on the “Queen of the Seas” (Reinas in Spanish means queen), the menu is inspired by authentic Sinaloa-style seafood recipes that co-owners Gabriela and Arturo ate when they grew up back home in Mexico. With fresh fish from the Gulf of California and the Pacific Ocean every day. The menu features traditional Mexican fish dishes and a range of traditional sushi dishes with a special Sinaloa-inspired twist.
Similar to its sister concepts within Gabriela’s Group, Seareians offers a new bar program that was developed by Gabriela herself. All craft cocktails, margaritas and micheladas are made with freshly squeezed juice, in addition to natural fruits that she ate as a child when she picked them in her grandmother’s garden in Mexico.
The interior dining space is inspired by the geography of the Sinaloa region of Mexico with a tropical design that includes a color palette of green, turquoise and custom floral wallpaper, as well as grass-like materials on the ceilings to create a more lush atmosphere.
We created Seareinas to bring a brand new dining experience to the Austinites. This includes not only our new seafood and sushi dishes, but also the live entertainment and the new banda we handpick to serenade our dear guests soon. After years of traveling to the Sinalo coast and enjoying all of their incredible one-of-a-kind seafood and sushi dishes, we soon realized that we needed to find a way to recreate this experience here in Austin. After years of developing the concept to finally choose a place that we now proudly call home, our team at Gabriela’s Group couldn’t be more excited to open our doors this summer. Seareinas is located near St. John in northeast Austin, 6607 N Interstate Hwy 35, Austin, TX 78752. The restaurant is currently open Monday through Sunday from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM. They have free parking which is very convenient. Keep in mind, Seareinas does not accept reservations.
