Texas dating apps create relief funds to help abortion seekers

Two dating companies are trying to help women affected by the new abortion restrictions in Texas.
Whitney Wolfe Herd, CEO of Austin-based Bumble and CEO of the Dallas-based Match Group, is creating relief funds to help women seeking an abortion outside of the state, according to NBC News.
Texas law banning abortion after six weeks of gestation went into effect on Wednesday, September 1st. The law makes no exceptions for rape or incest. The US Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to block the law.
Austin-based company Bumble, the second most downloaded dating app in the United States, announced Wednesday, Jan.
“Bumble is founded and run by women, and from day one we have stood up for the weakest,” the tweet reads. “We will continue to fight against regressive laws like # SB8.”
Bumble told Business Insider that the funds will go to organizations that support women’s reproductive rights.
The next day, Shar Dubey, CEO of Match Group, which runs Match.com, the country’s largest dating site, announced to its employees on Thursday the 2nd. The Dallas-based company’s fund will help meet the cost of workers and their dependents who must leave the state for an abortion.
