Texas Governor Appoints Strawther & Boyd to TMPC

Austin, TX Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Timothy “Tim” Strawther and Michael “Mike” Boyd to the Texas Military Preparedness Commission with terms expiring February 1, 2023 and February 1, 2025, respectively. The Commission seeks to preserve, protect, expand and attract new military missions, assets and facilities. The commission also encourages defense-related companies to expand or relocate in Texas.

Timothy “Tim” Strawther from Bulverde is the lead executive for San Antonio at Lockheed Martin Corporation. He is a member of the Air Force Association, the United States Air Force Academy Association of Graduates, and Rotary International, and serves on the boards of directors of I Care San Antonio and the Dee Howard Foundation. He is also Honorary Commander of the 12th Flying Training Squadron and the 433rd Airlift Squadron. From 1983 to 2009 he served in the United States Air Force. Strawther received a Bachelor of Science from the United States Air Force Academy, a Master of Arts in Strategic Studies from Air University, and a Master of Arts in Public Administration from Valdosta State University.

Michael “Mike” Boyd of Christoval is the chairman of Housley Communications, Inc. He is currently a trustee of the San Angelo Health Foundation, president of the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo, and a former trustee of the Shannon Board of Trustees. From 1974 to 2005 he served in the Texas National Guard. Boyd holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Texas A&M University and a master’s degree in banking from the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking.
