The Texas Longhorns defeated the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Saturday.

The 70-35 win is not only the first Conference Play win this season, but also the Big 12’s first win with the Horns for head coach Steve Sarkisian.

Longhorn fans made their way to the game early and didn’t let the 11 o’clock kick off.

“It’s great to be in a sea of burnt orange,” said one fan. “Really enjoy being in Longhorn Nation.”

Another fan said he thinks tech is one of their biggest rivals. So the game, he expected, would be good.

However, the Horns got an early lead and ran along. Half of them led the Red Raiders 42-14.

Many looked to quarterback Casey Thompson to see how the QB would be fair; he would end the game by completing 18 of his 23 passes for 303 yards and five touchdowns.

“It’s the beginning of a new era,” said one fan. “It was a bit of a shaky start in the non-conference game, but I’m excited about Casey Thompson. I trust Coach Sark. I think the offensive is going to be great, so I am excited.”

The Horns will travel to Fort Worth on October 2nd to take on TCU. Kick-off is at 11 a.m.
