AUSTIN (KXAN) – The 19-year-old suspect in the 6th Street mass shooting has been moved from Bell County to Travis County, according to online court records. De’Ondre White was sent to Travis County Jail Thursday noon. Its borrowing is set at $ 1 million.

The Killeen Police Department announced on June 24 that they had arrested White following the fatal mass shooting earlier this month. They say he was arrested without incident.

14 people were injured and one man was killed in the shooting. Douglas John Kantor, 25, died of his injuries after being shot at a hospital near Austin.

According to his family, Kantor visited Austin from Michigan. In a statement, the family said Doug “was looking forward to marrying his 10-year-old high school mistress and raising a family.”

“He was loved by everyone who knew him and had an infectious smile that would brighten any room. He was loved by his family, friends, and everyone who met him. This pointless tragedy put an end to all his dreams, “the family said in a statement to KXAN’s Jala Washington.

The family said Kantor was originally from Airmont, New York. He moved to Michigan and received a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Michigan State. He worked in the IT department at Ford Motor Company. Kantor continued his education at the University of Michigan and earned his Masters in Business.
