1. Fierce Whiskers Distillery prepares to open in late summer at 5333 Fleming Court, Austin. The name of the rye and bourbon whiskey distillery of the native Texans Tim Penney and Tri Vo goes back to a quote that the former US President Rutherford B. Hayes wrote in his diary during a visit to Texas in 1849 and Austin a place with it “Wild whiskers, games and drinking abound in all areas.” Www.fiercewhiskers.com

2. Label Society, an Austin-based retailer that sells second-hand designer handbags, watches, and accessories, was planning to open its second location in the Barton Creek Square Mall in August. The shop carries brands such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel and Hermes. The Label Society’s first location is on the Hill Country Galleria in Bee Cave at 12801 Hill Country Blvd. The new store will be located on the lower level of Barton Creek Square near Nordstrom at 2901 S. 3. Offline by Aerie, an affiliate of American Eagle and Aerie for young adults, will open its first Texas office in Barton Creek Square this fall. 4. Interior designer and wholesaler Four Hands completed the remodeling of its corporate headquarters and showroom at 2090 Woodward St., Austin, in June. Under the direction of Austin-based Michael Hsu Office Architecture, the design includes three house-like structures within the storage area. www.fourhands.com

5. The SunHouse in Easton Park on Solari Drive in southeast Austin will be Tesla Energy’s first all-solar district. Construction of the first dozen or so solar houses began in June and will continue in stages over the course of the next year. In collaboration with developers Brookfield Residential and Dacra, SunHouse’s homes in Easton Park will be equipped with Tesla’s V3 solar roof tiles, Powerwall battery storage systems and vehicle charging stations.
