Who needs Paris or Rome when you can move to Austin?

It’s no secret that Austin is the hottest market in Texas, with thousands of new jobs and residents.

But a new international study by Money goes further and names Austin the best place in the world to move.

The London-based consumer finance firm rated the world’s major metropolitan areas in terms of cost of living, housing prices and broadband speeds.

Austin took first place ahead of Tokyo on the list of “World’s Best Places to Change” and ranked ahead of more romantic places like Paris, Rome and Vienna.

Austin was the only Texas market to make it onto the list of 84 international metropolitan areas. It got high marks for everything from the climate to house costs to average monthly salaries.

The Texas city is a US boom town that attracts everyone from Apple to Elon Musk from Telsa.

Other US markets in the top 10 include Charleston, SC, Los Angeles, and Miami.

It’s a surprise that Los Angeles and San Francisco – two areas that send thousands of transplants to Texas – also get high scores on the report.

“If you’re thinking of moving outside of the US, Tokyo is the second highest scoring city in Japan,” the report said. “Tokyo scores with its large number of restaurants and green spaces. It also has the best average life expectancy, with residents turning 84 years old. “

More nuggets from the study: Switzerland is the most expensive location to move, Dubai has the best weather and Istanbul has the lowest cost of living.
