Numerous companies have moved to the Round Rock, Pflugerville and Hutto area in the past 6 months. From restaurants to gyms to cafes and more, the area is still attracting businesses at a rapid pace. Based on readership, some of the most popular are:
1) Taco Palenque is now only open in Round Rock. The Fresh Mex restaurant opened on October 15th on Louis Henna Blvd. 130, Round Rock opened. The first Taco Palenque restaurant opened in Laredo in 1987. 2) The location of the kebab shop at 18616 Limestone Commercial Drive, Ste. 300, Pflugerville, opens September 7th. The restaurant’s menu, serving Mediterranean cuisine, includes kebabs; Falafel; Wrap; and carved chicken, lamb, and beef. 3) Veteran-owned Alamo Coffee Co. will move its second location to Round Rock, 1021 Sendero Springs, in January. The gourmet coffee roaster offers five “Alamo-inspired” coffee blends: San Jacinto, a light roast; Brazos, a breakfast mix; San Antonio Mission, a medium roast; Gonzales Garrison, a hearty dark roast; and victory or death, an espresso. 4) Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar representatives have confirmed that a new location will open in late spring 2022 at the former Mellow Mushroom location 2600 N. I-35, Round Rock. However, they added that too many factors play a role in determining when construction will start or end. Representatives also said they would not comment on financial matters, but information from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation says the estimated cost of construction for the new site will be $ 2.55 million, according to a permit dated Oct. 12. The file also states that the scope of work includes the renovation of an existing, free-standing restaurant with an expansion of the cooling and storage room. Whiskey Cake serves a variety of starters, salads, main dishes and desserts, as well as drinks including wine, beer, cocktails and whiskey flights. Products such as biscuits, chicken and waffle plates, French toast, eggs and cocktails are also available for weekend brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. www.whiskeycake.com
