Ice-T isn’t here to tell him about trolls and what’s best for his family.
On Wednesday, the 63-year-old rapper and actor took to Twitter to clear up the controversy surrounding wife and model Coco Austin, who decided to continue breastfeeding their 5-year-old daughter Chanel Nicole. In a series of tweets, he addressed several users calling himself and Austin, including one who said breastfeeding her daughter was “sexual and gross.”
“Why the F are you worried about MY child ??? That’s the strange thing … Now go back to the basement, ”he replied.
In another tweet, he shared a photo of his wife and daughter, adding, “News Flash! We feed Chanel FOOD …
Countless fans responded with their own breastfeeding stories, but also noted that breastfeeding for such long periods is not an anomaly.
“My kids breastfed until 5 or 6, my last because I thought why the hell not. She was my last and I let her stop when she was ready. It wasn’t her, it was a consolation,” shared one Fan with.
Another noted that breastfeeding was “calming” and “a great boost” for a child’s immune system.
The conversation started after Austin’s recent interview with Us Weekly, in which she revealed that she is still breastfeeding their first child together, born in 2015 (Ice T has two grown children from previous relationships).
“Chanel still likes my breasts,” she said. “It is a great bonding moment for a mother and her child.”
Austin clarified that Chanel is breastfeeding and eating solid foods, adding that she has no plans to stop breastfeeding anytime soon.
“Why are you taking that away from her? … If she doesn’t want it, stop doing it. But I’m not just going to say no, ”she added.
The mother of one also came under fire in 2019 after she shared photos with her Instagram story of breastfeeding her then 3-year-old daughter and captioned the photos “when the breasts are calling” and “#NormalizeBreastfeeding” . She was firm in her decision.
“A mother’s calling … I’m so blessed to have this incredible experience in this thing called nursing,” Austin said at the time. The family told me to hang out for another week. They told me that I don’t want to miss this special moment you have with your child … in terms of health and bonding. I persevered and now almost 4 years later, Chanel still wants the breast. ”
