AffiniPay Appoints Executive Bryan Thompson as Chief Technology Officer

Thompson as chief technology officer as the company continues to expand. Thompson’s hiring follows news that AffiniPay has been named to the Inc. 5000 list of America’s Fastest Growing Companies for the 10th year in a row.

Bryan Thompson brings over 25 years of experience building financial services technology platforms, strategic product development, and leading high-growth teams. During his three years as chief technology officer at Beyond Inc., a provider of business services to small and medium-sized merchants, Thompson led the introduction of personal, online and mobile payment solutions. During Thompson’s time at Beyond, the company grew from a startup to one of the fastest growing retail service providers in the United States. Previously, Thompson was Chief Technology Officer at Heartland Payment Systems, the fifth largest payment processor in the United States at the time. At Heartland, he led a team of over 400 technology professionals that developed and operated Heartland’s core payment products.

Thompson is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a BBA in Business Administration with a major in Management Information Systems. Bryan previously served on the boards of directors of Beyond and Leaf Holdings, a technology startup that provides tablet-based point-of-sale and analytics to small hospitality and retail merchants.

From 2017 to 2020, Thompson was Chief Technology Officer at Beyond Inc., a business services company providing payments, payroll, and business services to small and medium-sized merchants. Prior to that, Bryan was Chief Technology Officer, Chief Enterprise Architect and Executive Director of Backend Systems for Heartland Payment Systems from 2005 to 2016, which was acquired by Global Payment Systems in 2016.
