Austin Scoops closed its southwest Austin ice cream shop on June 27th after 15 years of business and now plans to continue manufacturing and selling its products throughout the Austin area.
Formerly in a store on 9600 Escarpment Blvd., Ste. 900, Austin, the store closed its retail business in late June and moved to a new, sustainably built manufacturing facility on Nutty Brown Road. Austin Scoops now manufactures and markets its ice cream line through several new Austin partners, including online grocery store Trashless, Circle C Cafe and Mangieri’s Pizza Cafe.
Other new partnerships are also in the pipeline, the company said, and a selection of local restaurants are serving Austin Scoops specials this summer.
“While we are sad to close our Escarpment Village store, we are excited to begin the next chapter in our history with this exciting new factory and many new partners who will add to our Austin Scoops brand and our commitment to our community to take it to the next level, ”said owner Tim Joyner.
In addition, Austin Scoops will soon be opening a food truck serving ice cream and shaved ice, Joyner said. The company plans to have its food truck at all major Circuit of The Americas events as well. 512-535-4489. www.austinscoops.com
