Today’s Friday post highlights a modern woman who recently moved to Austin, Texas. Alexa Curtis was from a small town in eastern Connecticut and knew she was different and didn’t fit into “normal social mold”. She grew up with no money or connections, and at the age of seven her father was wrongly sentenced and sent to prison. When she started middle school, she was massively bullied. Alexa started a fashion blog as an outlet; A life in the fashion lane. By the time she was 12, her blog became a platform for her to express her feelings about teenagers, body image, and mental health. Now at 23, Alexa has moved her fashion blog to a full-time lifestyle platform that helps others be fearless and get out of their comfort zone.

I had to be assertive and fearless when I didn’t know what I was doing. I’ve learned the hard way and asked a lot of questions to get advice that has helped me overcome my own insecurities and make my life unfiltered and fearless. “

Inspired words of encouragement to live fearlessly

We live in a society where everything is instantaneous. From fashion diets to relationships to everything we know, do, see, and want to have, we can essentially understand it right away. We have Instagram / TikTok that can instantly make you viral / famous, Instant Pot that allows you to make gourmet dishes in minutes, and you can become a sensation overnight depending on which filter and post you choose. Not having to wait isn’t always bad, but being quick and easy isn’t always a good thing. This attitude towards instant gratification / instant culture leads us to comparison. Deep comparisons are the killer of all dreams. It prevents you from reaching your full potential.

When something is of value, it’s hard to come by. Usually there is a wait, and in that wait … when you get it (whatever it is) it adds value and excitement once you have it. Why? Because the wait was worth it. Patience, perseverance, determination, and hard work will get you a long way. It also allows you to appreciate the little things and be present. However, good things take time and usually don’t come easily or instantly. You cannot associate success with money or the things you have because disappointment and comparison will lead you there.

So how do you live a more confident and fulfilling life?

Stop worrying about others. Sure, easier said than done, but other people’s opinions don’t define you. Do you want me to repeat that? You don’t! Once you realize that, you will be embracing unfiltered life. You will gain confidence in mastering every challenge you face, face insecure with pride and not be afraid to try new things. Get out of your comfort zone and be your unforgiving, authentic self. The world needs you to be yourself, not a copy of someone else.
